MUSCAT – The two-day forum brings together researchers and academics from governmental and private higher education institutions in both countries, as well as companies and establishments related to higher education, scientific research and innovation sector.
Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in cooperation with the Council of University Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the event aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific research.
It will foster partnerships between higher education institutions in Oman and their counterparts in Saudi Arabia, promoting joint research programmes, researcher exchanges, and academic collaboration. Additionally, the forum seeks to encourage the establishment of research and development centres, boost joint investments in education, research, and innovation, and strengthen communication channels between intellectual, educational, and research institutions. These efforts align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.

The forum will feature several dialogue sessions focusing on challenges and opportunities in building pioneering universities in the Gulf region, the role of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions in supporting education, smart learning, and digital campuses, as well as scientific research and innovation collaboration. The event sees participation from nearly 70 Saudi universities, several research centres, and all public and private higher education institutions in Oman.
