Muscat: As confirmed by Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the announcement comes shortly after the conclusion of the 4th round of discussions, which took place in Muscat on Sunday. The Sultanate of Oman continues to play a key mediating role in facilitating the dialogue between the two nations, with the aim of achieving a balanced and binding agreement.
Prior to the Rome announcement, His Excellency Sayyid Badr held talks in Tehran with Iran’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi. Both sides explored a series of ideas and proposals to move negotiations forward, with a focus on addressing mutual concerns while advancing regional stability and security.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry official, Esmaeil Baqaei, described the Muscat talks as “difficult but useful,” noting they helped both parties better understand each other’s positions and explore realistic solutions. He added that Oman would coordinate and announce the next steps—now revealed to be in Rome.
