Beijing: Meeting in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Afghan Interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held a trilateral summit to bolster mutual ties and regional integration.

The three sides reaffirmed the importance of trilateral cooperation as a cornerstone for fostering peace, stability, and economic connectivity across the region. Key discussions centered around practical ways to promote trade, infrastructure development, and diplomatic engagement.

The leaders emphasized their shared commitment to extending the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly by expanding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan—linking the landlocked country to broader regional markets.

A joint pledge was also made to combat terrorism and reinforce efforts for long-term peace and sustainable development.
