Muscat – He was 67 and had been battling illness for over a decade.
Thomas was the Founder Director of Decorstone International LLC, a company known for pioneering decorative cladding stones tailored for Oman’s climatic conditions. A key figure in Oman’s construction and building materials sector, Thomas played a pivotal role in establishing Decorstone as a recognised brand across the Sultanate.

“He was not only a businessman but a visionary,” said Madhusudan E G, Marketing and Projects General Manager of Decorstone, who worked alongside Thomas for 40 years. “He was deeply passionate about his work, but also about giving back to society. It is a great loss to our company and even in our society,” he added.

Beyond his entrepreneurial contributions, Thomas was widely respected for his philanthropic and social work in Oman and India. He actively campaigned against drug abuse, alcoholism, and suicide, authoring several books on these critical social issues. He also built houses for the underprivileged in Kerala, often without seeking recognition.

Thomas was also a senior member of the Muttrah Brethren Assembly and remained active in the Protestant community in Oman. He participated in numerous religious and social initiatives over the years, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.
His death marks a significant loss to both the business community and the social fabric of Oman. Thomas is survived by his wife and three children.
