Oman LNG signs agreement with Vitol to enhance commercial value of LNG supply

Oman LNG signed an agreement with Vitol Asia Pte Ltd. to enhance its LNG supply portfolio, marking a further strategic step in the company's path towards strengthening its global partnerships and diversifying its markets

Muscat – The agreement, which comes into effect in 2026, will see the enhancement of additional commercial value by up to 0.8 million metric tons per year of LNG. The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Salem bin Nasser Al-Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.
This collaboration builds on Oman LNG’s strong strategic portfolio, leveraging the flexibility provided by delivery commitments to meet ever-changing global market demands.

Hamad bin Mohammed Al Naamani, CEO of Oman LNG, explained that this agreement with Vitol confirms the company’s ability to adapt and be flexible in dealing with the dynamics of the global LNG market. He also pointed out the continued positive response from global markets to the Sultanate of Oman’s ambitious strategy in the gas and LNG sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahmoud bin Abdul Sattar Al Balushi, Chief Commercial Officer at Oman LNG, said, “This enhancement agreement with Vitol is a testament to our proactive commercial strategy, which aims to boost the company’s portfolio to adapt and respond to shifts in global markets. It also enables the company to leverage its established reputation and expertise in the sector to realize new opportunities and value.”
