Oman hosts international symposium on the future of AI in judicial work

The international symposium titled ‘Anticipating Artificial Intelligence in Judicial Work’ began in Muscat under the auspices of His Excellency Shaikh Ghosn bin Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the State Audit Institution and Deputy of the Supreme Judicial Council

Muscat – The symposium aims to explore the potential of artificial intelligence within the judicial system, fostering discussions on future applications and encouraging innovation and sustainable development within the judicial facility. It will discuss key issues related to the legal, technical, and ethical challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence in the judiciary and address them to improve efficiency in justice.



In his opening remarks, His Excellency Issa bin Hamad Al Azri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council, emphasised the potential of AI to transform the justice system. “”Artificial intelligence represents a significant opportunity to develop judicial work, provided it is employed thoughtfully and under conscious human supervision based on the established principles of justice and the rule of law,” he stated.
