MUSCAT : The forum is part of the governorate’s efforts to enhance institutional integration and exchange of expertise among various government agencies.

The forum will be attended by a number of specialists and professionals in the fields of project management and administrative procedures governance from various government offices in the Sultanate of Oman.

The forum aims to build effective communication channels between relevant stakeholders and exchange best practices in the areas of contracts, tenders, and project management. This is expected to contribute to supporting balanced development paths and achieving integrated government work at the governorate level. It will also provide an overview of the most prominent projects implemented in Muscat Governorate.

The forum’s programme includes an official opening, followed by a series of specialised sessions and workshops, as well as a field visit for participants on the second day. During the visit, participants will be introduced to a number of vital projects in Muscat Governorate, with the aim of linking theory with practical application and enhancing knowledge exchange on the ground.

The forum concludes on its third day with a presentation of working papers by specialists from Muscat Governorate and the General Secretariat of the Tender Board.

The forum is an opportunity to enhance the capabilities of local cadres and develop the working tools of governors’ offices, in line with the trend toward empowering governorates to exercise their powers more broadly within the framework of decentralisation.

It’s worth noting that the forum is the first of its kind to be organised by the tender board in cooperation with the governorates. It will be held periodically, alternating between governorates, as part of a move aimed at unifying practices and developing institutional work tools in the areas of contracts and tenders.
