Muscat: In line with the Bank’s commitment to community development and promoting Oman as a sporting nation, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, continues to hand over Green Sports Fields across the Sultanate. Recently, the Bank participated in the inauguration of the Al Raheeb Sports and Cultural Team’s project in Qalhat in the Wilayat of Sur. The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Busaidi, Deputy Wali of Sur and in the presence of Abdullah Juma Al Araimi, Senior Regional Manager of Bank Muscat’s Sharqiyah and Dhakhiliyah branches and team members.
On this occasion, Abdullah Juma Al Araimi, Senior Regional Manager of Bank Muscat’s Sharqiyah and Dhakhiliyah branches, said: “The Bank’s landmark CSR programme, Green Sports, continues to achieve great success in creating sustainable green spaces across the Sultanate. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Al Raheeb Sports Team in the Wilayat of Sur for the inauguration of their project, wishing them the best of luck. The Bank has participated recently in the inauguration of new sports fields’ projects across the Sultanate. More teams have been added to the list of local sports fields inaugurated since the inception of the programme.”
Yasir Hamdon Al Shuaibi, Head of Al Raheeb Sports Team, said: “We are pleased to celebrate today the completion of the team’s project. We affirm our commitment to maintain this project to maximize the benefit for all team members and the surrounding community in general. The Bank’s “Green Sports” initiative contributed positively in supporting local sports teams and youth and we hope such initiatives continue in the future.”

A number of Al Raheeb Sports and Cultural Team members also expressed their happiness over the team field project’s inauguration. Rashid Abdullah Al Saadi, Team Coach, said: “The implementation of the synthetic turf project for the team’s field will be of an added value as it will help the team members develop their skills and talents. With this project, the members will get a suitable place to practice and strengthen their skills and organise various sporting activities.”
On his part, Abdullah Hashil Al Shuaibi, Team Secretary said: “We are pleased to thank Bank Muscat for this initiative as they continue to achieve positive results in supporting local sports teams in the Sultanate. Al Raheeb Team’s project will provide a suitable environment to support youth and the community by benefitting from the space to hold various social activities and events.”
Muscat Bank has been keen to expand its social responsibility activities through its well-received and prosperous sustainable initiatives. Every year, there is intense competition among sports teams to take advantage of the areas of support offered by the Green Sports program, which is one of the most significant initiatives of sustainable social responsibility. Since its establishment, 203 teams have benefited from it, and there are roughly 70,000 beneficiaries overall. The Bank will keep working together and improving communication with stakeholders in order to maximise the utilisation of community-serving green areas and reap the long-term benefits of the Green Sports programme.
