DUBAI: Parkin, the service provider behind the new system, has introduced Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to track vehicles at both Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira. As you enter, cameras scan your plate and log your time. If you exceed the free parking window, the system automatically calculates the charge and notifies you via SMS.

To avoid late payment fines — which can go up to Dh150 — users must pay before leaving. Payments can be made via the Parkin app or website (parkin.ae), with options including Apple Pay, credit/debit cards, and the Parkin Wallet. For regular shoppers, AutoPay can be activated in the app, ensuring charges are deducted instantly upon exit. Those without an account can use the PayLater option.

Mall of the Emirates Parking Rates:

Free: Up to 4 hours

Dh20: 4 to 5 hours

Dh40: 6 to 7 hours

Dh80: 7 to 8 hours

Dh100: More than 8 hours

Dh200: Overnight (2am to 6am)

Dh3: Drive-through fee applies even if you don’t park
