DUBAI: As the travel weekend kicks off, Emirates anticipates heightened congestion in and around Terminal 3 and advises passengers to plan ahead. The airline expects more than 300,000 people to begin their journeys between Thursday, April 18, and Monday, April 21.

To help ease the flow of traffic and minimise delays, Emirates has provided several check-in options and procedural reminders. Passengers can check in online or via the Emirates App, beginning 48 hours before their scheduled departure. This method also offers a digital boarding pass for quicker airport processing.

For those choosing to check in at the airport, Emirates counters at Terminal 3 will open 24 hours before departure, except for US-bound flights, which open 12 hours prior. The airline also recommends early check-in or bag drop-offs the night before travel to allow sufficient time for security and immigration formalities.

Emirates is also encouraging the use of biometric gates for faster clearance and highlighting alternative check-in points for added convenience:

City Check-In at ICD Brookfield Place, DIFC: Open 24 hours until 4 hours before flight time (not available for US-bound flights).

Ajman Central Bus Terminal: Check-in from 24 hours to 4 hours prior to departure.

Travellers must adhere strictly to timing requirements. All passengers are required to clear passport control and security at least 90 minutes before departure. Economy and Premium Economy passengers must reach the gate 60 minutes before takeoff, while First and Business Class travellers are advised to arrive 45 minutes ahead. Boarding gates will close promptly 20 minutes before the scheduled departure—late arrivals will not be accommodated.
