Muscat – The meeting reviewed relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in pursuit of shared goals.
The Omani side was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the UK delegation was headed by Hamish Falconer, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office responsible for the Middle East.
Discussions covered prospects for joint cooperation in cultural affairs, tourism, education, vocational training, the environment and renewable energy.

The two delegations also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by Munthir Mahfoudh Al Manthiri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Abdullah Hamad Al Riami, Head of the Cultural Cooperation Department at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Liane Saunders, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Sultanate of Oman and several representatives of concerned government units.
