Muscat – In a coordinated effort with the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah), authorities disposed of 2,300 bags of the prohibited substance, each weighing 100 grams, bringing the total destroyed to 230,000 grams.

The action was taken in response to violations of Consumer Protection Authority Decision No. 256/2015 and its subsequent amendments, which strictly prohibit the trading of such items due to the inherent health risks they pose to consumers.

The CPA confirmed that the destruction process was carried out after all necessary legal procedures were completed. The seized materials are deemed unauthorized goods and their trade is illegal within the Sultanate.

The Consumer Protection Authority continues its diligent efforts to monitor markets and ensure the removal of unauthorized goods. Legal action will be taken promptly against any violators of consumer protection laws.
