Temperatures continue to rise in Oman, with the mercury hitting above 40°C

Several areas of Oman have recorded temperatures exceeding 40°C this week, reinforcing signs that summer is on the horizon.

Muscat: Weather data from the CAA’s meteorological stations indicate that Oman is rapidly moving into hotter conditions, with multiple regions reporting searing temperatures above 40°C. Sur led with the highest recorded temperature at 41.8°C, while Samail and Jaalan Bani Bu Hasan followed closely, hitting 41.2°C and 41.1°C respectively.

Other locations also soared toward the 40°C threshold, including Suwaiq at 40.7°C and Bawshar at 40.0°C. Al Awabi, Hamra Ad Duru, and Buraimi hovered in the high 30s, hinting that the heat is affecting nearly every corner of the Sultanate.
