Muscat – Starlink is a low-orbit satellite technology that delivers broadband internet services. Its primary goal is to provide high-speed internet access in areas that lack access to high-speed internet services.
Starlink Muscat will cover all geographical areas of the Sultanate of Oman, including comprehensive service areas, with speeds that can reach 100 Mbps. It will also provide innovative solutions for connecting telecom towers in areas with difficult terrain, contributing to the digital transformation and serving a number of economic sectors such as oil and gas, mining, tourism, and agriculture.
The launch of the service in the Sultanate of Oman will achieve several benefits, including enhancing competition among licensed telecom companies, providing multiple options for beneficiaries, enhancing quality and speed, providing a strengthened environment for a digital society, and serving various business sectors. Any natural or legal person wishing to obtain these services will benefit from Starlink services.
It is pertinent to note that on June 20, 2023, Royal Decree No. 42/2023 was issued, issuing a Class 1 license to Starlink Muscat S.A.O.C. to establish and operate a satellite communications system to provide fixed public telecommunications services.
