Muscat – The duties, affecting products with an electrical voltage not exceeding 1000 volts, will take effect on June 8, 2025, and remain in place for five years.

Khalid bin Khamis Al Masroori, Director of the Commercial Establishments Monitoring Department at the Ministry, confirmed that this decision followed a complaint filed by the Office of the Technical Secretariat for Combating Injurious Practices in International Trade at the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The move is based on the Common Law on Anti-Dumping, Countervailing, and Safeguard Measures, as outlined in Royal Decree No. 20/2015.

Khalid Masroori emphasized that the decision aims to protect Gulf products from harmful trade practices, ensuring a fair competitive environment for national industries.
