Muscat: His latest feat came with his successful ascent of Mount Carstensz (4,884m) in Indonesia, one of the most technically demanding climbs in the world.

Al Naabi, who has already conquered Mount Everest (8,849m) and Lhotse (8,516m), reached the summit of Carstensz on February 28, marking the final leg of his record-breaking journey. He described the climb as one of the most difficult challenges in the Seven Summits series due to steep rocky terrain, requiring advanced technical climbing skills and rock-climbing techniques.

Apart from its rugged terrain, Mount Carstensz is located deep in the remote forests of Papua, making access a challenge. Al Naabi highlighted the unpredictable tropical weather, with heavy rain and dense fog adding to the difficulty and requiring constant vigilance.

With this achievement, Al Naabi has cemented his legacy as Oman’s top mountaineer, proving that Omani adventurers can stand among the world’s elite in extreme exploration.
