Muscat gears up to host 3rd GCC Beach Games 2025 with week-long sports, top athletes and venues

Oman is set to host the 3rd GCC Beach Games Muscat 2025 from April 5–11.

MUSCAT : At a press conference, organizers unveiled the event’s logo and shared key details of the highly anticipated competition, which will welcome athletes from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Hilal bin Abdullah Al-Maamari, Assistant Director General for Sports Care and Development and Chairman of the Media, Marketing and Promotion Committee, underscored Oman’s natural advantages: “Oman is rich in many natural elements that qualify it to host regional and international sporting events, including the third Gulf Cooperation Council Beach Games.,” he said. “Based on the Omani Sports Strategy, we seek to enhance the attraction of sports hosting, promote sports tourism, and highlight the Sultanate of Oman as a sports tourism destination.”

Representing the Oman Olympic Committee, Taha bin Suleiman Al-Koshari—Secretary General and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee—highlighted how organizers chose sports in line with modern trends, focusing on disciplines experiencing rapid growth and high popularity in GCC countries. “Oman’s readiness in terms of infrastructure to host competitions played a decisive role in determining the selected games,” he explained, noting that this approach ensures not only a stellar competition but also a boost for beach sports development across the region.
