MUSCAT : The Dutchman powered ahead in the final 200 meters, leaving Giacomo Nizzolo (Q36.5) trailing in his wake.
The uphill drag to the finish line saw Erlend Blikra (Uno-X Mobility) initiate the sprint, but Kooij positioned himself perfectly on Blikra’s wheel. Launching his own sprint in the final 200 meters, Kooij powered past Blikra to claim the stage win.
