SAUDI ARABIA : The accident occurred when a bus carrying workers collided with a trailer near Jizan on Wednesday morning.
The Indian Consulate in Jeddah confirmed the incident, expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families and assuring full support. The consulate has also issued helpline numbers for inquiries.
The crash occurred just before 6 a.m. in the Wadi bin Hashbal region of Asir province, south of Mecca, according to Saudi Red Crescent spokesman Ahmed Asiri, as cited by the official Saudi Press Agency. The ill-fated bus was transporting 26 workers to a worksite when it collided with a trailer, leaving several injured and hospitalized.

Among the deceased was Kapeli Ramesh, 32, from Metpali Mandal in Jagitial district, Telangana, as reported by Munsif Daily and Telangana Today. The accident also claimed the lives of workers from Nepal and Ghana.
Eleven workers, including two from Telangana, sustained moderate to serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his sorrow over the tragedy, stating he was “grieved” by the loss of lives. Saudi authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision.
