MUMBAI: Mumbai woke up to a wave of shock as news broke of a violent burglary attempt at Saif Ali Khan’s 11th-floor Bandra apartment around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. The incident took a dire turn when the intruder, after confronting the actor’s maid, attacked Khan, resulting in a fierce altercation.
The actor sustained six stab wounds, including a critical injury to his thoracic spinal cord. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where surgeons removed a 2.5-inch-long knife embedded in his spine during emergency surgery. Doctors confirmed his condition is stable but have advised rest and close monitoring.
The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was arrested on Friday following an intensive manhunt. He was taken to Mumbai’s Bandra police station for questioning. Initial investigations suggest the attack was part of a botched burglary attempt.
