MUSCAT : ABA Oman International School reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to sustainability and community engagement as Grade 8 students participated in a purposeful beach clean-up at Azaiba Beach. Organized by the ABA Language Department under the school’s Service as Action programme, the initiative provided a meaningful opportunity for students to take action in preserving Oman’s coastline and protecting its marine ecosystems.

The clean-up extended beyond collecting litter, such as plastic waste, glass bottles, and other harmful debris. Students used the experience to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste, promoting recycling, and respecting marine habitats. These actions reflect ABA’s vision of equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and empathy to create a positive and lasting impact on their communities and the world.
“This was more than just a beach clean-up; it was a lesson in sustainability and social responsibility,” said Abir El Ladki, ABA faculty. “Our students are learning to see the bigger picture—understanding how their choices impact the environment and how they can be part of the solution. These experiences stay with them long after they leave the classroom.”
