Muscat: HH Sayyid Jamshid bin Abdullah Al Said, the last Omani Sultan of Zanzibar, passed away on Monday evening at Sultan Qaboos Hospital, Muscat. He was 95.
Born on September 16, 1929, in Zanzibar, His Highness Sayyid Jamshid was educated in Alexandria and Beirut, he also served in the British Royal Navy, honing his leadership skills before gaining administrative experience under his grandfather, Sultan Khalifa bin Harib.
Following his arrival in Oman on September 15, 2020, he spent his final days in his homeland. His burial will take place in the Royal Family cemetery in Muscat, marking the end of an era.
