DUBAI: The FIFA World Cup will return to the Middle East after the football governing body officially confirmed on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup, while Morocco, Spain and Portugal were awarded joint hosting rights for the 2030 tournament.
Saudi Arabia was the sole bidder for the 2034 competition. Its host status was confirmed after an online meeting of the 211 members of FIFA. Saudi Arabia will also host the 2027 Asian Cup, the 2029 Asian Winter Games and the 2034 Asian Games.
