Oman Golf Cup: International players gear up for final round in Muscat

The second edition of the Oman Golf Cup reaches its climactic final round on December 9, bringing together more than 80 participants, including 48 who triumphed in qualifiers spanning seven countries

Muscat: Over 5,500 players competed globally, with the final set to unfold across three premier golf courses in the Sultanate of Oman: Ghala Golf Course, Lavi Golf Course, and Al Mouj Golf Course.

The tournament, which blends sports with diplomacy, investment, and tourism promotion, began its journey in Italy and continued through Austria, Germany, France, Japan, South Africa, and India.

Speaking ahead of the final, H.E. Khalid bin Hashel Al Musalhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, emphasized the event’s significance:
“The final round in Muscat will bring together a group of international and local players in a friendly atmosphere that strengthens the bonds between the participants and creates a unique experience. This tournament also highlights our efforts to promote the Sultanate of Oman as a global destination for international sporting events, tourism and investment.”

The action kicks off at Ghala Golf Course on December 9, followed by Lavi Golf Course on December 11, with the grand finale at the world-renowned Al Mouj Golf Course on December 12.

Beyond golf, the tournament highlights Oman’s cultural and natural treasures. Participants will embark on heritage tours of Muscat, Wadi Shab, Nizwa, Al Hamra, and Nakhal, alongside an exploration of the Daymaniyat Islands.
