MUSCAT: BDO triumphed in the 22nd edition of the Auditor’s Cup 2024 in Oman, claiming the prestigious title after a thrilling final against KPMG.
The tournament, held at the Al Bahri Al Hail Ground, brought together seven talented teams, each vying for glory. Where players passionately expressed their feelings and let the emotions flow, particularly on the 29th and 30th of November.

Key highlights from the Tournament showed Crowe impressed by reaching the Eliminator round and finished as 2nd Runners Up, which set up a thrilling finale between BDO and KPMG. BDO made a sensational fourth consecutive appearance in the final and clinched the title for the second time, showcasing their dominance in the competition. The event was graced with the presence Mr. Alkesh Joshi of EY Oman, Mr. Jais Jacob of Crowe, Mr. Mavinder Singh of BDO, Mr. Imtiaz Ibrahim of EY Oman, Abha Lekhak of KPMG, Mohammed Nayaz of PwC, Farid Sheikh of Deloitte, Davis Kallukaran of Crowe, Bipin Kapoor of BDO & Srinath Narayanan of EY Oman.
In the final match, BDO won the toss and chose to chase, allowing KPMG to bat first. KPMG posted a decent total of 53 runs in 6 overs, losing 4 wickets. Mayank was the standout batter for KPMG, scoring 20 runs and the highest in their innings. In response, BDO faced early setbacks with the loss of their ace all-rounder Shamsullah and star opener Moiz, but Vishnu rose to the occasion, scoring a match-winning 22 runs off 9 balls. The chase was completed in just 3.3 overs, losing only 2 wickets. BDO’s captain Abu Hashim also played a key role, top-scoring with 23 runs, which included three sixes and a four. Vishnu was named Player of the Match for his exceptional batting and brilliant fielding during KPMG’s innings. Other notable contributions were from Abu Hashim, whose quickfire knock ensured the chase was completed with ease.
BDO’s victory was a testament to their consistency and skill, marking their second title win in the competition. Their performance, led by Vishnu and Abu Hashim, ensured they outclassed KPMG, despite a spirited effort from their opponents. The tournament lived up to its reputation with outstanding performances across the board and an atmosphere of sportsmanship.
Other Awards conferred were: Player of the Tournament – Abu Hashim (BDO), Best Bowler – Mayank (KPMG), Best Batter – Abu Hashim (BDO), Best Wicketkeeper – Arsalan (KPMG), Best Dressed Team – EY Black, Oman. There were special performance awards bestowed to Mr. Saqib from PwC for being so close to getting hat-tricks twice in one single match, Mr. Bala from Crowe for his magnificent fielding at the boundary line with some first-class catches and just as importantly Mr. Nasfatullah of Crowe for being an exceptional all-rounder throughout the tournament.
