MUSCAT : This marks a steady increase in the country’s vehicle fleet, with 79.6 percent of these vehicles being privately owned, amounting to 1,376,221 private cars.
Among the registered vehicles, the majority have engine capacities between 1,500 and 3,000 cc, accounting for 54.3 percent of the total, or 939,398 vehicles.
In terms of colour, white remains the most popular vehicle colour in Oman, with 42.5 percent of vehicles (approximately 735,599) being white. The commercial vehicle sector, which includes trucks and other business-related vehicles, accounts for 14.5 percent of the total, or 251,305 vehicles. Rental vehicles represent 2.2 percent, totalling 37,890 vehicles, while taxis make up 1.6 percent, with 28,174 vehicles registered.
Regarding vehicle weights, the vast majority of vehicles weigh less than 3 tons, representing 90.7 percent of the total number of registered vehicles, which amounts to 1,568,048 vehicles.
