MUSCAT : The ‘Local Content Development Plan’, known as ‘Tasne’a’, aims to promote the industrial sector through three key programs: enhancing local content, empowering manufacturers and suppliers, and boosting the Omani product.

The plan seeks to increase the contribution of Oman-made products and services in the domestic and international markets, aligning with the nation’s broader goals of economic diversification and sustainability.
H.E. Dr Saleh bin Saeed Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of the industrial sector, noting that Oman’s non-oil commodity exports reached RO 4.38 billion by the end of August 2024. This highlights the growing role of the sector in supporting Oman’s economic diversification efforts.
The Local Content Development Plan is expected to create new opportunities for Omani manufacturers, foster local supply chains, and empower the country’s workforce in the industrial sector, all while reinforcing the vision of ‘Manufacturing by Omanis, for Omanis.’
