MUSCAT : The dialogue session, titled “Enhancing Investment of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Health Sector,” reviewed current statistics and projections for SME investments in healthcare. According to data from PASME, the number of SMEs registered in the health sector totaled 2,363 as of October 2024. This figure includes 1,908 small enterprises and 57 medium enterprises, with the sector positioned for further expansion through supportive measures.
The event was structured around four key areas: supportive policies and legislation, licensing, work contracts and land use rights, and the strengthening of capabilities within the health sector. Discussions covered essential regulatory standards in quality, safety, and operation, as well as licensing procedures and contract management. Investment incentives, financing options, and partnership programs were also presented as crucial enablers for SMEs to flourish within the healthcare field.
