MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Excellency Abdelmadjid Tebboune have jointly announced a significant initiative aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation during the Algerian leader’s state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The two leaders endorsed the establishment of a joint Omani-Algerian investment fund. This fund is intended to facilitate partnerships and projects across various sectors, including renewable energy, petrochemicals, desert agriculture, technology, tourism, and other promising areas. Both nations emphasized the importance of fostering communication and partnership opportunities within the private sector, promoting trade and industrial exchanges, and leveraging their markets to boost national exports and access regional and global markets.
In addition to economic collaboration, the leaders addressed regional issues, calling for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression against Palestinian territories, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. They affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to end illegal occupation and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and its recognition by the United Nations.
