Muscat – The Ministry noted that more than 74,000 passengers utilised charter flights, marking a 15 percent increase compared to the previous year. This surge makes it the most successful tourist season for charter aviation to date.

Other key achievements and indicators include growth in revenues of over RO 23 million, encompassing income from accommodation, transportation, and tourist excursions. Notably, this figure does not account for additional revenues from aircraft landing, stopping, and refuelling fees.

Looking ahead, there are promising opportunities for further growth in the charter aviation sector. These include:

1. Attracting new global markets
2. Investing in hotel establishments and tourism services
3. Activating other regions in the Sultanate and enhancing airports like Duqm and Sohar
