Muscat – H.E. Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, led a delegation that met with H.E. Mahmoud bin Yahya Al Dhahli, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah, along with other governors and members of the Social Committee in the Municipal Council.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s Office, focused on potential areas of cooperation to benefit various categories served by the Ministry, including the role of Social Development Committees in addressing community needs and the impact of charitable teams in assisting needy families. Emphasis was placed on strengthening family and social cohesion.
Discussions also covered topics such as social care, services for individuals with disabilities, and institutional support mechanisms.
In addition, H.E. Dr. Al Najjar undertook a field visit to families in the villages of Jabal Al Abyad in the Wilayat of Dima and Al Taiyyin. The visit aimed to assess the living conditions of beneficiaries, including individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and low-income families, to better understand their needs and inform the development of the Ministry’s programs and services.
During her visit to the Al Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Ibra, the Minister was briefed on the care and rehabilitation services provided to children facing various disabilities, including mental, hearing, physical, and visual challenges.
