MUSCAT : The FIH has extended an invitation to its delegates to attend the 49th Statutory Congress in Oman. The event will feature the ‘FIH Empowerment and Engagement Forum,’ a platform for discussions on key issues related to hockey’s growth.

With the participation of 141 countries, the meetings will culminate in the election of a new Board of Directors for the international federation.

In a press note on its website, the FIH stated: “As part of their first in-person global gathering since the 2018 Congress, the delegates of the 49th FIH Statutory Congress to be held in Oman (7-9 November) have been invited by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and its President Tayyab Ikram to reflect and debate about key matters to grow hockey. “

The forum will delve into topics such as athlete support, gender equality, development, participation, communication, facilities, funding, and technology solutions. Delegates from continental federations, national associations, and FIH representatives will participate in the discussions.

The Congress will also feature presentations from various hockey associations, including the French Hockey Association, Belgian and Dutch Hockey Associations, Croatian Hockey Association, and FIH’s Global Supplier Polytan.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming forum, emphasizing its importance in fostering dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among the global hockey community. The Congress will provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss and address key issues, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the sport.
