Muscat – Key topics on the agenda included a review of a report detailing the need for disaster shelters in the Sultanate of Oman amid changing climate conditions.
In addition to this, the council reviewed a report from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, addressing various aspects of housing and urban development in the country.
The meeting also included discussions on draft aviation agreements between the Sultanate of Oman and several nations, specifically the Dominican Republic, the Republic of Djibouti, and the Republic of Costa Rica. These agreements aim to enhance international connectivity and cooperation in the aviation sector.
The report concerning the implementation of disaster centres in Oman aims to establish an effective system for relief and shelter services across all governorates and wilayats of Oman, following consultations with officials from the Ministry of Social Development.
This meeting, led by Dr. Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Yahyai, Chairman of the Committee, marked the third regular session, held between the first and second annual sessions of the 10th term.
