MOSCOW: Discussions centred around enhancing cooperation in legislative fields and coordinating efforts between the Shura Council and the Russian State Duma.
In a key meeting with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Al Maawali emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two councils.
His Excellency also met with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, where they explored the robust Omani-Russian political dialogue. Both sides expressed their commitment to fostering mutual interests and ensuring security and stability in the Middle East region through enhanced multi-track relations.

Furthering the dialogue, His Excellency engaged with Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Russian Federation Council. They discussed exchanging legislative and parliamentary expertise, along with coordinated positions on regional and international issues within parliamentary forums.
As part of the visit, His Excellency laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Palace, honouring the sacrifices of fallen heroes. He also visited the Central Museum of the Patriotic War, deepening cultural ties between the two nations.
The Omani delegation participated in the economic event “Prospects and Features of Doing Business in the Sultanate of Oman,” hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, highlighting Oman’s potential as a business hub.
