Muscat – The forecast indicates that the weather conditions will primarily affect parts of the Al Hajar Mountains, extending to the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman and the mountainous and coastal regions of the Dhofar Governorate during the afternoon and evening.
The alert, effective from 12 pm to 8 pm on September 29, highlights the potential for convective clouds associated with thundershowers. The affected areas include North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Buraimi, Musandam, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Batinah, Dhofar, and Muscat.
Predicted rainfall amounts vary, with the Al Hajar Mountains expected to receive between 15 to 60 mm, while Dhofar Governorate could see rainfall of 15 to 35 mm. The weather phenomena pose several hazards, including downdraft winds, flash floods in wadis, and possible hail, with wind speeds reaching 15 to 45 knots and reduced visibility.
