Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Nasser bin Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy highlighted that this progress, achieved through the ambitious Vision 2040, not only supports economic growth but also equips Oman to better withstand external shocks.
“This upgrade is one of the most important fruits achieved by the implementation of Oman Vision 2040,” said His Excellency Dr. Al Maawali. He noted that the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to continue expanding over the next two years, further enhancing financial security.
In line with these developments, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Economy revealed a sharp rise in foreign direct investments (FDI) in Oman. FDI soared from RO 20.6 billion at the end of 2022 to approximately RO 25.4 billion by the close of the first quarter of 2024. His Excellency attributed this increase to Oman’s strengthened financial footing, allowing the government to focus on economic and social priorities, advancing the country’s long-term growth prospects.
