Oman’s new football coach announces squad for the final round of Asian qualifiers

National football coach Rashid Jaber announced the official squad list for the upcoming internal training camp, as the team prepares for the third and final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Muscat: Rashid Jaber, the national football team coach, has unveiled the squad for the upcoming internal camp. This is part of preparations for the critical third and final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The squad includes a mix of seasoned players and rising talents. In goal, Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini, Faiz Al-Rashidi, and Ibrahim Al-Rajhi have been called up. The defensive lineup features Mohammed Al-Musalmi, Ahmed Al-Khamisi, Mohammed Ramadan, Khaled Al-Buraiki, Ghanem Al-Habashi, Ali Al-Busaidi, Ahmed Al-Kaabi, Amjad Al-Harthi, Abdulaziz Al-Shamousi, and Mulham Al-Sunaidi.

The midfield boasts the inclusion of Harb Al-Saadi, Abdullah Fawaz, Arshad Al-Alawi, Sultan Al-Marzouq, Jameel Al-Yahmadi, Yazeed Al-Maashani, Abdulrahman Al-Mishfri, Zaher Al-Aghbari, and Ahmed Al-Riyami. Meanwhile, the attack line will be spearheaded by Nasser Al-Rawahi, Salah Al-Yahyaei, Omar Al-Maliki, Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Essam Al-Subhi, and Hatem Al-Rushdi.

The national team will kick off the third round against Kuwait on October 10 at Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, before heading to Amman to face Jordan on October 15 at the Amman International Stadium.

Following these matches, Oman will host Palestine on November 14 and Iraq on November 19. In 2024, the team will resume its campaign with a March 20 clash against South Korea in Seoul, followed by a rematch against Kuwait in Kuwait on March 25. The qualifiers will conclude with a home game against Jordan on June 5, 2025, and an away match against Palestine on June 10, 2025.
