Muscat – Several major banks in Oman – including Bank Muscat, Sohar International, Sohar Islamic, Bank Dhofar, NBO, Dhofar Islamic, and Al Muzn – have integrated Apple Pay into their services. Vodafone has also announced that customers can use Apple Pay to settle service payments.
To use ‘Apple Pay’, users can add their debit or credit card to their Wallet app on their iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. However, some users may need to wait for their cards to be verified by their respective banks.
Apple emphasizes the security and convenience of Apple Pay, stating that it is a faster and more secure way to check out. There is no need to create an account or enter card information. The card number is not shared with merchants or stored on Apple’s servers or personal devices.
To set up Apple Pay, users can add a credit or debit card to their Wallet app and follow the on-screen instructions. Once verified by their bank, they can use Apple Pay for contactless payments at stores, websites, or apps.
For iPhone X and newer devices, users can double-click the side button, authenticate with Face ID, and hold their phone near the contactless reader.
