Pomegranate harvest begins in Oman

Muscat: Khalid bin Hamad Al-Aghbari, Head of the Field Work Team at the Tourism Agricultural Development Company (Janaen), expressed delight at the impressive turnout on the first day. Visitors worldwide and across Oman flocked to experience the magic of the Ramana Project’s second edition. Since the event’s launch on July 4, over 41,600 visitors have attended, with numbers expected to rise as the pomegranate harvest season peaks.

Al-Aghbari emphasized that the “Romana” event, now in its second year, aims to boost eco-friendly agricultural tourism while offering unforgettable experiences in Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The festival, organized in collaboration with small and medium enterprises, immerses tourists in the scenic pomegranate groves. Visitors can enjoy various activities amid the fruitful trees, making it a one-of-a-kind agricultural tourism initiative.

This year, the “Romana” project features approximately 667 pomegranate trees, with an expected yield of over 8.5 tons of fruit.
