MUSCAT : The casting call is targeting children aged 9-11, with auditions starting as early as April 2025, just seven months from now. This timeline echoes the search for Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in 2000, who, like their counterparts, were close in age to the characters they played. It took seven months to find Daniel Radcliffe in 2000 for the role in the Harry Potter movie franchise when he was 11. His co-stars, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, were 10 and 12, respectively.

The series promises to be a “faithful” adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s iconic books, spanning seven seasons, with each season dedicated to one of the beloved novels. Filming is slated for 2025-2026, with a grand release planned for 2026.

Applicants are encouraged to submit two self-tapes: a short poem or story (excluding any “Harry Potter” material) and a personal video. The casting call emphasizes inclusivity, welcoming actors of all races, ethnicities, and gender identities.

Following the recent appointments of Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod as writer and director, respectively, the series is shaping up with a fresh cast and a dedication to honouring the original source material.

The project, initially developed on Max before moving to HBO, will be produced by Warner Bros Television and Rowling’s Brontë Film and TV, with executive producers including Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, Gardiner, Mylod, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
