Oman’s Supreme Judicial Council addresses citizen’s claims of misconduct

The Supreme Judicial Council has issued a statement addressing a recent claim made by a citizen through a video clip posted on social media.

Muscat – The citizen alleged that he did not receive justice in his personal case and suggested that a judge had intentionally divorced his wife so that the judge could marry her.

“Upon studying the case, it became clear that what the citizen said was absolutely untrue, and there was no personal relationship between his case and any of the council members. The Council refrains from publishing any details related to the family lawsuit between the publisher of the clip and his ex-wife, who later married another citizen (not a member of the Council),” reads the statement from the Supreme Judicial Council.

The Council reiterated its commitment to the principles of prompt justice and the rule of law. It called on the public to avoid linking personal disputes with judicial processes, emphasizing that the judicial system is designed to operate with fairness, integrity, and transparency.

The statement highlighted that legal avenues are available for appealing and addressing grievances related to judicial decisions, reinforcing that the Council upholds the highest standards of justice and remains dedicated to safeguarding the rights and freedoms of individuals within the legal framework.
The Supreme Judicial Council reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a fair legal environment and ensuring that all cases are handled with the utmost respect for justice and procedural integrity.
