Oman’s ministry addresses concerns over fishing boats affected by tropical storm Asna

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has responded to recent social media reports concerning the impact of tropical condition Asna on fishing boats in several coastal villages.

MUSCAT : In a statement, the Ministry confirmed that it is actively monitoring the situation and is aware of the issues faced by local fishermen. To address these concerns, the Ministry has engaged a specialized consulting firm to design and establish breakwaters and harbours in key coastal areas, including Al Daffa, Al Suwaih, and Ruwais.

The Ministry also emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safety of seagoers, fishermen, and their property during tropical conditions. It continuously monitors weather updates from the Civil Aviation Authority, issuing timely warnings and advising necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.
The Ministry reassured the public of its ongoing efforts to support affected communities and maintain maritime safety.
