Muscat: The forum aimed to strengthen economic ties and expand trade and investment exchange, building on the already robust bilateral relationship between Oman and India.

Eng. Redha bin Jumaa Al Saleh, a member of the Board of Directors of the OCCI, emphasized the forum’s role in strengthening economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment exchanges. He noted that the forum serves as a crucial platform for Omani and Indian companies to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities in sectors such as food security, building materials, petroleum and pharmaceutical products, textiles, plastics, and jewelry.

Al Saleh highlighted the significant growth in bilateral trade, which reached approximately RO 1.2 billion by the end of June 2024. This underscores India’s status as one of Oman’s major trade partners. He also pointed out ongoing efforts to establish a free trade agreement between the two countries, which would further deepen economic ties and enhance trade relations.

During the forum, business owners from both nations engaged in bilateral meetings to discuss strategies for strengthening cooperation, sharing expertise, and exploring new investment ventures. The discussions focused on consolidating trade relations and addressing the requirements of this evolving economic stage.
