Muscat: Oman has earmarked a massive 50,000 km², an area equivalent to 10% of the country’s landmass, to develop green hydrogen projects. By 2030, these initiatives are set to produce an impressive 1.38 million tons of green hydrogen annually, reinforcing Oman’s commitment to clean energy.
With over $49 billion in investments, Oman is spearheading eight major green hydrogen projects in the Dhofar and Al Wusta Governorates. These projects are projected to generate 34.8 gigawatts of renewable energy, marking a significant shift away from traditional oil and gas dependency.
