MUSCAT : The lab aims to accelerate Oman’s progress towards its 2030 green hydrogen production targets by assessing the readiness of key sectors and developing a strategic roadmap.

In his opening address, H.E. Eng. Salim Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, emphasized the importance of infrastructure readiness for Oman’s green hydrogen sector. He highlighted the need for a strong and coordinated approach to leverage natural resources, enhance local capabilities, and foster global partnerships.

The Ecosystem Readiness Lab will focus on five key sectors: contracting, workforce, permits and requirements, infrastructure, and local content. By evaluating the readiness of these sectors, the lab will identify gaps and develop a comprehensive plan to ensure the effective and sustainable development of Oman’s green hydrogen industry.

Eng. Abdulaziz Al Shidhani, General Manager of Hydrom, emphasized the lab’s role in identifying challenges, crystallizing opportunities, and creating local economic opportunities through the use of natural resources, improved local capabilities, and strengthened global partnerships.

The Lab will play a crucial role in refining strategies and strengthening partnerships to shape Oman’s green hydrogen future.
