Muscat – The dispute arose after two consumers lodged complaints against the establishment regarding unsatisfactory services. The first consumer had paid RO 600 for bedroom furniture installation but was dissatisfied with the persistent unpleasant chemical odors emanating from the newly installed pieces. Despite attempts to rectify the issue, the consumer remained unsatisfied.

The second consumer had contracted the establishment for customised furniture installation but was frustrated by delays and lack of communication. An advance payment of RO 900 had been made, but the establishment failed to deliver on its promises.

The CPA intervened in both cases, acting as a mediator between the consumers and the establishment, facilitating amicable settlements that resulted in the full refund of the amounts paid by the consumers.
These actions underscore the CPA’s commitment to resolve consumer grievances and ensure that businesses adhere to their commitments.
