MUSCAT : Over the next 48 hours, the storm is projected to shift southward and southwestward, with a gradual dissipation anticipated away from the South Al Sharqiyah coasts.

Clouds advection, including medium and high clouds, is expected to affect the Governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, and North Al Sharqiyah. Residents in these areas are advised to stay informed and prepared for potential weather changes.

Asna, which is currently classified as a tropical storm, has wind speeds ranging from 35 to 40 knots. The storm is situated approximately 240 kilometers from the Omani coast, with the nearest rainy clouds about 120 kilometers away. Due to unfavorable conditions for further development, Asna is likely to diminish into a tropical depression by this evening.

The storm’s current position is at latitude 22.73 N and longitude 62.73 E, moving in a west/southwest direction. This system is likely to weaken into a depression by the evening of September 1, 2024, due to unfavorable conditions for further development.
