MUSCAT : At the outset, Her Excellency extended heartfelt thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his steadfast support of the education sector.

Highlighting the planned initiatives, H.E. Al Shaibaniyah announced the appointment of over 3,000 new teachers, as part of a broader plan to recruit 10,000 educators during the current five-year plan. She emphasized the Ministry’s efforts to enhance teacher training through strategic programs and international accreditation, including new curricula aimed at strengthening essential skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

The Minister also introduced upcoming developments, including the implementation of engineering and industrial specializations in select schools in Muscat and North Al Batinah Governorates, and the launch of advanced digital systems in education. She noted the opening of sixteen new school buildings to accommodate growing student numbers and improve facilities and highlighted the Ministry’s intent to gradually replace old school buses to enhance security and safety standards.

Dr. Al Shaibaniyah commended students for their achievements in regional and international competitions and announced the fourth edition of the Oman Science Festival. She also stressed the importance of moral and social guidance for students, encouraging parents to actively support their children’s education.

Concluding her speech, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to educational excellence and innovation, guided by the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and wished success to all students and educators for the new academic year.
