Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Al Wusta branch is actively fostering an investment-friendly climate by launching various programs and initiatives. The upcoming fifth Duqm Forum, scheduled for October 20, 2024, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat, will spotlight the blue economy under the theme “The New Destination for Investment.”
The forum, held in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Authority for Economic Zones and Free Zones, will bring together experts, investors, and companies specializing in the blue economy. Honourable Dr Salem bin Salim Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Al Wusta Governorate, emphasized the forum’s focus on three main areas: investment strategies in the blue economy, opportunities in food security, logistics, tourism, and renewable energy, and global technologies that enhance these investments.
Dr Al Junaibi highlighted Al Wusta’s strategic location along the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, making it a key maritime trade crossing and a potential logistics hub for ship manufacturing and maintenance. With its vast fish resources and potential in the petrochemicals sector, Al Wusta Governorate is set to be a frontrunner in the blue economy, offering a wealth of investment opportunities.
