MUSCAT : The Passport Seva Portal will be down for technical maintenance starting August 29, 2024, at 20:00 IST and will not be up and running until September 2, 2024, at 06:00 IST. This interruption affects all portal functions, including appointments and passport-related services.
The Department of External Affairs confirmed that during this period, the portal will be inaccessible to citizens and key agencies such as the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Regional Passport Offices (RPO), Bureau of Immigration (BOI), and others. Appointments scheduled for August 30 will be rescheduled, and affected applicants will be contacted with new dates and times.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat also announced yesterday that Passport, Emergency Certificate (EC), and Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) services will also be paused during this time due to the system upgrade. But don’t fret—consular and visa services will continue as usual at Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACS) operated by M/s BLS International.
